One hot, hot night when Christopher Thomas couldn't sleep, the Loonies came to stay.
The Loonies are five little people--the tallest no bigger than your baby finger--who have great powers and great adventures. They can journey to the farthest hills of Russia in a single night. They can make strange and beautiful things out of blades of grass and string.
As Christopher soon discovers, the Loonies can be greatly mischievous as well. As Christmas approaches and Christopher's house fills with decorations and visitors, he warns the Loonies to be on their best behaviour. But Loonie behaviour is very strange indeed.
The Loonies Arrive is a fantastic tale that will delight anyone who has ever had an imaginary friend.
"Full of gentle humour, and students will enjoy reading about the adventures of these tiny people."

"Weird and wonderful... unforgettable characters... Sarah Cummins's translation of Duchesne's work is beautifully done... the illustrations are just right for this loony bin. Once encountered, the Loonies will not be forgotten. Highly recommended."
