Their days were long and hard. They braved dangerous storms and swirling rapids, and carried their canoes over rough terrain. The voyageurs were a special brand of tough, rugged adventurers.

About the Author

MARIE SAVAGE was raised in Chateauguay, Quebec, just south of Montreal. Now living in Sidney, British Columbia with her three adventurous children where she works as the Executive Coordinator for the Urban Development Institute in Victoria.
